The benefit of history is that we have chosen which Viking values to continue: their pride, honour and fierce independence. Every drop of our whisky is a tribute to our ancestors – especially our 12-Year-Old. Predominantly aged in sherry seasoned European and American oak casks, our 12-Year-Old boasts warm wintery spices that are engulfed in waves of smoky honey, fruitcake and heather. Nose: Sweet and floral, with some sour fruit (unripe peaches and mango, and lime zest), sweet buttery pastry, marzipan, cola bottles, sticky cherries, plum jam and a hint of metal. Palate: Marzipan and sherry fruit up front, shot through with sour spices and wood. There were also Cinnamon Grahams, good maraschino cherries, polished wooden floors and big woody spice. Finish: Spicy, with nutmeg, ginger, soft brown sugar and dark unfinished wood.
